Rapid Rehousing
The Rapid Rehousing program is a new collaborative effort between three homeless family shelters: the Salvation Army, The Road Home Dane County, and the YWCA. The project is funded through a special grant written and administered by the United Way.
The Rapid Rehousing program provides housing for 45 homeless families annually. Households accepted into the program will receive first month rent and security deposit paid by the program, shallow rental subsidy of about 30% of market rent for the next 11 months, and 12 months of intensive, broad-based case management services.
There are two goals for families accepted into the program:
- 1) to move them quickly out of shelter into permanent housing, and
- 2) to help them successfully maintain stable housing
